Keeper’s West

Built at the same time as the lighthouse tower, these buildings are the original homes of the lighthouse keepers and their families. After falling into a state of disrepair in the years since automation thay have now been fully restored. The cottages now offer a unique ‘lifestyle’ experience for the self-catering visitor.

The Bungalow

Located next to the beach in Portuairk this charming bungalow has been tastefully renovated as a letting cottage. With a wood burning stove to keep you warm in the winter months. beautiful views of the bay and out to the Western Isles.

Borve House

Set in a magnificent position, Borve House overlooks Sanna Bay and has spectacular views to the Small Isles and Skye. All on the ground floor: entrance lobby and cloakroom leading to the hall, large kitchen, utility room, separate toilet and washbasin, living room with dining area, open fire and patio doors opening onto a spacious balcony with table and garden chairs. Two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom and bathroom complete with shower. Total control heating and hot water.

Dondies House

A very cosy, fresh, modern, fully equipped conversion of a byre. Ideal for a couple to enjoy stunning and panoramic views of the Small Isles and Skye from the comfort of the living room through the large patio doors. Five minute walk to sandy beaches. All on ground floor with laminated wooden flooring throughout: open plan kitchen and lounge with dining area and multi-fuel stove. Front entrance to hall leading to one double bedroom and shower room with toilet and washbasin.

Rudh Dudh

This restored Black House, perched on rocks beside a secluded white sand beach, is reached only by a 150m scramble along the Portuairk to Sanna footpath. It is a unique experience for the adventurous, for the nature lover and for those seeking seclusion. It comprises: open plan kitchen / living room, with one double sofa bed, wood burning stove, electric cooker, fridge, shower room with toilet. There is no cleaning between lets (too remote) and it is essential to arrive in daylight.
