About the property
Rudh Dubh meaning “Black Rock” in Gaelic is situated on the coastal path between Portuairk and Sanna and clings to the rocks amongst some of the most stunning and dramatic scenery on the West of Scotland. In a truly spell-binding and unique location, Rudh Dubh provides a much sought after get-away, ideal for those who love the outdoors and wildlife or who just want to stay somewhere peaceful and truly wild. The tastefully restored, cosy and compact bothy has one main room with a wood burning stove, a small, functional kitchen and bathroom and provides all that is needed for an away-from-everything break.
Rudh Dubh is reached by walking along the pathway between Portuairk and Sanna. You can’t take your car right up to the house, so anything you bring with you will have to be carried around 500 metres. The bothy sits next to the coastal path and walkers pass by from time to time on their way to Sanna Bay. Its remote location provides a rare sense of seclusion from the outside world and those who have visited Rudh Dubh tend to come back year on year for this unique experience. Staying at Rudh Dubh is a once in a lifetime experience for the adventurous, for the nature lover and for those seeking a place where it’s possible to be lost in the unrushed serenity of Ardnamurchan. It’s also ideal for writers or artists who can’t fail to be inspired by the stunning seascapes and huge skies overhead.
All on one level, Rudh Dubh has an open plan living room/kitchen with one double sofa bed, wood burning stove, electric cooker and fridge. There is also a shower room with toilet.
