Oran na Mara, Kilchoan, Ardnamurchan
Oran na Mara, meaning 'Song of the Sea' in Gaelic, stands at the far end of the crofting village of Kilchoan, in an elevated, picturesque spot that enjoys the sun's rays for most of the day. It is a traditional croft house, which has been beautifully restored with modern furnishings while retaining it's character and charm, including varnished wood flooring downstairs, stripped wooden doors throughout, lovely painted shutters upstairs and a beautiful stove in the open plan dining/kitchen area and another in the living room. On sunny days enjoy the house's secluded, green, leafy garden, attractive sun room at the front, and incredible views across the sea to the Isle of Mull and hills of Morvern beyond. For rainy days there is a games room at the back of the house featuring a multi-games table and full size table tennis table. The property is only a five minute walk into the village where you can find a friendly pub, local shop, community centre, craft shop and regular ferries to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Ideal for couples or families, the cottage is perfectly situated to take advantage of all that the area has to offer.

"We have stayed at Oran na Mara before off season so knew views were terrific. It's hard to think of a more wonderful setting for midsummer as sun never quite sets- though it gets dark enough to watch lighthouses twinkle. We like wood burning stoves as we were able to heat house up on first night. For peace, panoramic views , wild life and lack of hassle Oran na Mara would be hard to beat.
"This cottage has maximum cosiness appeal with a woodburning stove in the kitchen (more like a living room) and lounge. It has a lovely feeling of traditional solidness and good taste. The small porch on the front makes it wonderful for sitting and admiring the truly stunning views and the added bonus of a games room covers all wet weather eventualities. We've been twice and would love to visit again. , "
