About the property
Old Kilmory Church, is a beautifully converted building, perched on the hillside above the hamlet of Kilmory on the north of the Ardnamurchan peninsula. It has amazing views over the coast and the isles of Eigg, Muck and Rhum as well as the Cuillins of Skye in the far distance. Built in the 1850s, the church retains much of the original wooden structure and character and features a stunning mezzanine bedroom which looks down onto the beautifully furnished seating area. Old Kilmory Church provides a charming and romantic getaway location for those who want to escape from the rest of the world.
Old Kilmory Church, ‘Tigh na Cille’ in Gaelic, has been sympathetically restored and converted with great attention to detail. The double height lounge and dining area with a wood-burning stove is truly breathtaking. There are also comfortable built-in window seats providing the perfect place to while the hours away with a book, or to relax as you gaze out across to the Small Isles and Skye.
Upstairs the mezzanine bedroom enjoys spectacular views of the islands to the north and the imposing Ben Hiant to the south. A small second bedroom has full sized bunk beds and the bathroom includes both a bath and separate shower. Heating in the property is generated by under floor heating and storage heaters, which add background heat. The wood burning stove is fuelled by the generous log store, situated in the property’s private fenced garden. The beautiful beaches at Kilmory are a short walk away and the surrounding area is teaming with wildlife, including red deer, Golden Eagles and other birds of prey, pine martens, otters and rare flora and fauna. There are also many geological and archaeological features of interest, including the site of the recently excavated Viking longboat burial.
Ground floor: Entrance porch leading to a utility room with freezer, washing machine and tumble drier, large open-plan dining/lounge/kitchen area with double height ceiling, large bathroom with bath and shower and small bedroom with bunk beds.
Upstairs: mezzanine bedroom with double bed.

Hi, I’m Anna. I have loved travelling for as long as I can remember and am delighted to have recently become a mother. We went on a family holiday to Ardnamurchan, a remote peninsula at the most westerly point of mainland Scotland. We stayed in a beautifully converted church with views over the islands of Muck, Eigg, Rum and Skye.
